Welcome to Jim McCall's ULTIMATE DRUMMING. This is a continuation of the beginning Rock beats and fills. In this course we introduce the 16th note which is the natural progression for advancement from 8th notes when playing Rock & Roll. This course consist of 15 easy to learn lesson videos divided into three different sections of 5 videos each. The first 5 lessons demonstrate the basic 16th note ride pattern with variations on the bass drum. The next 5 videos apply the alternating 16th note pattern often used for medium to quicker tempos. The last 5 videos demonstrate some really cool 16th note fills that can be played in combination with any of the previous 16th note beats. The beats and fills taught in this course have been used on 1,000's of hit songs and should be in every drummers repertoire. All these beats and fills sound great and are really fun to play. So get ready to Rock & Roll and have fun with these excellent sounding 16th note beats and fills.
The best way to practice this course is to learn each lesson thoroughly before advancing to the next video. Practice slowly at first while maintaining strict tempo before increasing speed. Make sure to count out loud, this will take the edge off the coordination and reinforce the timing. All lessons are in progressive order and best results will be obtained by practicing the lessons in the order they are listed. At the end of each practice session try playing some of the exercises by memory and improvise by combining beats and fills together. Most of all, have fun with these great sounding beats and fills.
