In this class, you will learn how to turn watercolor blobs into beautiful viola blooms. 

We’ll take a deeper dive into:

  • Watercolor paints and their unique qualities
  • Papers, brushes, and supplies
  • Design composition and simple shapes for beautiful bouquets
  • How to work with a limited color palette
  • Understanding how watercolor pigments work and flow
  • Achieving GLOW in your paintings without using metallics

We’ll cover four essential techniques that will help your paintings glow:  

  • Wet in Wet watercolor blobbin’
  • Layering and Glazing techniques to get the GLOW in your painting
  • Bold to Blend to Bleed Techniques
  • Texture and Finishing Techniques

I’ll demystify and walk you through each technique step-by-step before we paint the final project together.

The course project

Create a Handmade Card with Your Viola Painting

In this class, we will paint an A-6 (4 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches) sized floral bouquet that you can make into a card, frame, gift to a friend, or add to your portfolio of work. You can also work through this class in your favorite watercolor sketchbook. The techniques are versatile for any project application.
