Hi, my name is Shelia. I am a North Carolina licensed attorney, a business consultant, and founder of Fearless Queens Dominate. I have taught courses as an adjunct professor at a law school, continuing education to attorneys, and workshops to business owners across the state of North Carolina. Welcome to the course, How to Get Out of a Productivity Slump.

It’s happened more times than you would like. For days you’re in a zone, accomplishing everything you need to accomplish and more. You’re getting things done on your to-do list, and you’re feeling good about yourself.

And then it happens. You get hit by the productivity killer virus. You lose all motivation. There are things you know that you need to get done, but you just can’t seem to get started. Deadlines are looming. Emails need to be answered. And the phone calls…well, you just let them go to voice mail. You look at your calendar, and you start to feel overwhelmed. All that productivity that you had just moments, days, and even weeks before, disappears.

You actually feel bad about this. And sometimes, you’re not real sure what to do next. You tell yourself that you should push through it. You tell yourself to stay strong. You can do it. You hesitate to take break from it all…until you finally crash.

You need a way out. And you need a way back in.


In this course, we’re going to start by tackling the reasons why productivity slumps happen. This will help you understand productivity slumps and why you may be judging yourself too harshly. We’re going to take a deep dive into and break down the productivity cycle that we all experience. That will be followed by a discussion of five strategies that you can use when you find yourself in a productivity slump.

It’s not just enough to want to be more productive or to institute strategies to help us become more productive. We must also understand that there is a productivity cycle for each individual, and that when plan in accordance with our personal cycle, we’re more likely to reach the productivity goals that we’ve set for ourselves.
