More about this course

Hello!

This class is all about how to get your first or next job. I am an Employment Advisor and have worked with young people to develop their employability skills, so I have seen several mistakes which hold people back from getting jobs. They are easy mistakes to make but are sometimes hard to recognise, which is why I made this class.

I want to help you stand out and increase your chances of getting the job you want. It's very hard (I know!) but let's try together!

I will break down the job application process, discussing the following:

  • Where to apply for jobs - the open and hidden job markets
  • How to write strong and unique CVs, cover letters and applications
  • How to stand out in an interview
  • Your unique selling points

Feel free to leave comments or messages if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I really hope you find this class useful!

The course project

The class project is to evaluate your job search, CV, cover letter and interview technique. What can you change/do to increase your chances of getting the job you want?

About the instructor

Hello, my name is Shanice and I'm from London. I taught myself how to make jewellery when I was 17 years old, then turned it into a business which I ran for a total of three years. It was extremely hard work and took me on a roller-coaster ride, but …
