Watercolor Graduated Wash - Dark to Light Value (Tone)
In Part Two of the Pulling the Puddle Watercolor Series you'll learn how to create a streak-free wash that transitions from a dark value to a light value using a single pigment. You will also learn how to pull the puddle over the top of another, dried, wash to create a fabulous and realistic shadow effect. As a project you will create another pear painting to hang with the pear painting you created in Part One of Pulling the Puddle.
As a project you'll create another pear painting to hang with the pear painting you created in Part One of Pulling the Puddle. To create the finished project you will only have to mix and apply four different puddles of watercolor; one for the pear, one for the background, one for the table and one for the shadow! The first three washes practice the graduated puddle pulling technique. For the fourth wash you have an option to use a graduated puddle pulling or the consistent puddle pulling you learned in Part One.
