In this class, we're going to explore what web development is and how exactly to get into web development as a hobby or career. If you're brand new to coding, software development or web development, this is where you should start as this is the perfect introduction into web development course.
We'll tackle commons myths about web development and common questions people have, such as:
Then we'll take a look at tools of the trade, and get set up with programs we need to get started right away. We'll also explore what it takes to break into the industry and become a web developer.
If you're brand new to coding, or you're thinking about maybe getting into web development/coding as a career or hobby, this course should be your very first step.
Along the way, I'll explain terminology and common words we use in the industry. And then we'll dive into open source and what it is, why it's important and what companies are looking for in open source contributions.
Lastly, we'll create a very simple HTML web page as your final project and I'll show you how you can get into web development in as little as 10 minutes.

You will get a code editor setup on your computer and write a few lines of code which will be your first official web page.
You'll open it in your browser and then take a screenshot of your web page.
